Graphics cards

Configuring the graphics hardware acceleration

Your graphics card does not support hardware acceleration. This application of augmented reality needs all the resources of your graphics card to help you get the best experience. We therefore recommend you to:

  1. Inquire about the type of the graphics card installed on your PC or Mac:

    • PC : Start > Control Pannel > Device Manager > Display adapters
    • Application > Utilities > System informations > Graphics/Display

  2. Update the graphics card’s driver by informing you of the following links:

  3. Adjust the graphics card’s settings to use all of its capabilities without power saving mode. See the 2 examples below :

  4. Special case: More and more laptops have graphics modes called "switchable". Switchable graphics modes allow users to switch between graphics power saving mode (eg used when running on battery power) and high-performance mode. In many cases, power saving modes make hardware acceleration unaivailable.
In this case, it is required to enable hardware acceleration by adjusting the settings of your graphics card, See an example below:

Example for owners of NVidia graphics card

Right-click an empty space on your desktop > Then click on "NVIDIA Control Panel".
Once « NVIDA Control Panel » is open, click on "Iimage settings with preview" in the "3D Settings" item.
Then select "Use my preferences to improve" and move the cursor to "Balanced" halfway between "Performance" and "Quality". Then click "Apply" and close the window.

Example for owners of ATI/AMD graphics card

Right-click an empty space on your desktop > Then click on "Graphics Properties".
Once "Catalyst Control Center" is open, click on « Preferences », then click on "Advanced View".
In the left menu, click on the "Power" tab, then "Switchable Graphics Method". Then select the second method proposed by clicking on "Select the graphics processor manually." And « Apply ».
Finally, in the left menu, click on the "Switchable Graphics" tab. Then choose as Graphics Processing Unit the "High- performance GPU" parameter. Then, you can apply the changes and close the window.

Example for owners of Intel graphics card

Right-click an empty space on your desktop > Then click on "Graphics Properties"
Click on the "3D" item in the left menu. Then, in global settings, move the cursor in the middle for a 3D "balanced". Click "Ok".
